Bikefinder BFG1T is a GPS tracker / transmitter that finally solves the problem of bicycle theft! Either you find your bike – or you get your money back without any deductible and can buy a new bike. Bikefinder is a GPS transmitter that you can easily (yourself) mount on the handlebars of your bike. Together with the app (which is free), you can see where the bike is and get a warning on your mobile if the bike moves because someone has stolen it. You can have Bikefinder for any bike you want – both it and the insurance work just as well for electric bikes as expensive road bikes and mountain bikes.
The product consists of a longer rod that is inserted into the handlebars of the bike, then you connect your GPS to the included app and make sure it is charged. In the event of theft, the GPS must have at least 20% charge for the insurance to apply.
Since Bikefinder was launched, a full 75% of all stolen bicycles have been recovered shortly after the theft. These are figures that the police cannot boast about. In 2019, 69,900 bicycles were stolen and investigations were opened in 4,150 cases. Only 250 bicycles were recovered – i.e. a recovery rate of just over 0.3%.
